The Biggest Typo I’ve Ever Made

First of all, in case you didn’t know, I am somewhat of a grammar nerd. Not anything to out of the ordinary but I try my best to write my best and I am that person that notices when other people mess up. Sorry!

So here is my HUGE mess up. When I created this blog, I made the biggest typo of my life. In my blog name URL! And it’s been that way for 2 years.

It read www.youngancrafty.blogspot.com

Young an Crafty? Doesn’t make much sense. I totally missed the D on and. Who does that!? I think I was just so excited about starting a blog that I hit submit before I changed my mind. And yes, it has bugged me for 2 years.

All of these folks were switching to .com’s and Word Press. Well, I didn’t want to go to Word Press. I like Blogger and I have never had a problem with it. So my messed up blog name URL stayed because I thought the only way you could be a .com was through Word Press.

Until today! I read this great tutorial over at Somewhat Simple that said you don’t have to switch. That’s right, I’m still on blogger but I am now an official .com. And this time, I got it right! I am now www.youngandcrafty.com. It seems so much more official now.

What I did was buy my domain name through godaddy.com. After fumbling around and trying to figure this mess out while making a mess, I finally just called support at Godaddy and they directed me HERE. All you do is type in your domain (www.youngandcrafty.com). Then go to blogger, settings, advanced settings and type in your domain again. BAM, you are set up.

Now I just need to do something about my email address. It’s still [email protected]. I bought email capabilities through Godaddy.com so I might be switching over. We will see how much of a headache that is…

So my words of advice if you want to create a blog is… Check your spelling in your title! And then recheck it again 🙂

And maybe a third time wouldn’t hurt either.

Just speaking from experience.
