They looked so pretty for a short time. I wish I could blame the fact that we went on vacation for them dying but I just plain forget to water them. Just ask W, he'll tell you how forgetful I can be. I have already killed two house plants. Here are the flower's on the front porch that are dying a slow death because I seldom occasionally remember to water them.
Thank goodness we had a beautiful flower bed when we moved in. And thank even more goodness that it didn't contain a single flower. It does have beautiful azalea's in the spring! I must say that I can take no credit for the flower bed. I can take credit for weeding it and putting mulch down but that's about it. (Don't focus too much on the hole where a plant is missing by the window on the right, yes I do plan on filling it one day this year.)
Ok, so I do consider myself to have a grey thumb. It's not black because I CAN grow a garden. Don't ask me how I can grow a garden but not flowers because that I can't answer ya! I rarely water it either. I didn't take a picture when I first planted it. This picture is from today so let me just warn you, it looks like I have a tomato jungle. Right now there aren't any tomato's but they will produce again in the fall. I DO have watermelons!
Wow, now that I'm looking at that picture, my garden looks like a hot crazy mess! I have enjoyed a ton of tomato's from those plants though! That's actually only 4 plants. There were 6 but the other two weren't staked properly (as in, not at all) so they grew all funky and I pulled them up. I really don't have enough room for watermelon vines but I just insisted that I needed them. I can't wait to taste them!!
Yuuummm!!
For some reason this one is growing all weird so hopefully it still taste's good! Does anyone know how you know when a watermelon is ripe or ready to be picked? I have no clue...
What color do you consider your thumb?
