Berry Smoothie

Berry Smoothie

This is another great make ahead smoothie. Make it the night before and keep it in the fridge overnight for lunch the next day. Easy and delicious!

Ingredients:

1 Strawberry Greek Lite yogurt (90 calories)
1/4 cup almond milk (7.5 calories)
2 handfuls of spinach (40 calories)
1 cup strawberries (50 calories)
1/4 to 1/2 cup blueberries (20 to 40 calories)

Total Calories: 207 – 227

If you are worried about the spinach, I say give it a shot. You seriously can't taste it and it adds tons of nutrients!

Throw all of your ingredients in your blender. I always put my spinach on bottom so that it blends really well. Blend until smooth.

Stud Earring Holder {Tutorial}

Stud Earring Holder1

Lately, I’ve been really into stud earrings. So much so that I was running out of places to put them. You see, I have this earring holder that hangs on the wall and is perfect for dangly earrings. I started using the ledge for studs which worked fine. That is until my stud addiction got worse…

Earring Holder

You can see how I made this earring holder HERE. And one similar HERE.

It is super functional for all of my dangly earrings and I still love it.

So here is how I made a stud earring holder.

I’ve had this picture frame for awhile just sitting around. It was brown and I wanted white. I gave it a quick coat of spray paint. It was at this point that I also thought. Hmmm… if I take out the glass and the back, how is this thing going to stand up. Not my brightest moment.

FYI: I think I’m probably the worse spray painter ever. Patience is key and I have none. I know all of the right ways to spray paint, I just don’t follow them. You are supposed to go back and forth lifting up on the “trigger” each time. I’m more of a “hold the trigger down the entire time” kind of spray painter. The results aren’t always good.

This was my solution to making it stand up. I cut a piece of dowel rod into two equal lengths. I then drilled a hole in the frame and stuck the dowel rods in. I’ll be honest, they fit so snuggly that I didn’t even hot glue.

Now you’ve got a nice little free standing frame!

Next, I added some black lace to the inside. I hot glued it into place and then hot glued over the top as well. I love using lace for an earring holder because there are tons of holes to hang or poke your earrings through!

Stud earring holder 6

That’s it! This project is super easy and quick.

I have mine sitting on our counter hanging by the toothbrushes. No, my counters do not stay this clean. And yes, everything that was there is on the right side of the counter that I’m not going to show you :)

I intentionally made it the opposite colors of the one I have hanging up. I didn’t want it to be matchy-matchy.

How do you store your earrings??

Pineapple Kale Banana Smoothie

Pineapple Kale Banana Smoothie 1

I just love pineapple in a smoothie. Delish! Unfortunately this is not a make the night before smoothie. I’ve found that citrusy type fruits in smoothies make it taste bitter the next day. Also, you need to be a fan of kale to add this to your smoothie. It has a much stronger taste than spinach and you CAN taste it. If you still want the veggie nutrients then swap the kale for spinach.

Pineapple Banana Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 frozen sliced banana (70-100 calories depending on size of banana)

1/4 cup greek vanilla yogurt (45 calories)

1/2 can of pineapple chunks in pineapple juice or fresh pineapple (157.5 calories)

3-4 stalks of kale (40 calories)

Total Calories: 312.50 – 342.50

Pineapple Banana Kale Smoothie 1

Take the leaves off so that all you have left is the stalk.

Put the kale on the bottom and then add all other ingredients. Make sure you split your can of pineapple with pineapple juice down the middle. You need the liquid of the juice. Blend until smooth.

Apple Pie Smoothie

Apple Pie Smoothie

This is by far my favorite smoothie to make. Its super delicious and tastes very similar to an apple pie. It is creamy and hits the sweet tooth when I want a treat. I typically whip this up for lunch the night before. This smoothie keeps well in the fridge overnight.

Do not be intimidated by the the spinach! You seriously cannot taste it at all if you blend it up good enough. Spinach is nutritious and this is an excellent way to sneak it into your diet if you don’t love the taste.

Apple Pie Smoothie Ingredients

Ingredients:
1 frozen sliced banana (70-120 calories)
1 medium size apple (80 calories)
2 handfuls of spinach (40 calories)
1 greek lite vanilla yogurt (90 calories)
1/4 cup vanilla almond milk (7.5 calories)
cinnamon to taste

287 - 337 calories depending on the size of your banana

I would love to know if you make this and what you think!

This week I want to introduce you to Kara. Be sure to stop by her blog and follow along!

Hi everyone! My name is Kara and I blog over at Happy Go Lucky where I share easy and inexpensive DIY projects, crafts and recipes.

During the day I spend my time teaching reading to my lovely sixth grade students. It is often challenging but always entertaining.  I'm not sure you would even believe half the stories I could share with you.  I'm a Navy wife and mother to an amazing four year old son who keeps us laughing all the time.  I love sunflowers, wearing flip flops and I'm totally addicted to Pinterest and Salted Caramel Mochas.  I go to Home Depot and Michaels at least once a week.  On a perfect day, I'll stop at Starbucks and then go to Michael's and Home Depot.  It's dangerous that they put all these awesome stores in one shopping center!

I hope you'll stop on over to Happy Go Lucky and check things out!!

Here are the fab features from last week:

White Cloud and Children's Network Hospitals

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of White Cloud for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

White Cloud offers the softest bath tissue, paper towels, and facial tissue. They also offer the softest heart. White Cloud has teamed up with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and asked the kids receiving treatment to design the new White Cloud Facial Tissue boxes. The top 10 submissions were posted to the White Cloud Facebook Page where fans had the opportunity to vote for their favorite design. The three designs that received the most votes are coming to life on White Cloud Facial Tissue boxes. I bet these kids are filled with so much joy seeing their very own design on a tissue box! These boxes have been on sale since May 24 so you can pick up your very own special box at select Walmart stores next month.
